The Maryland Library Association's selection committee has selected John Shield's as their 2026 William G. Wilson Maryland Author Award winner. John will be celebrated at and serve as the keynote speaker for the 2026 MLA/DLA Annual Conference in Cambridge, MD on May 7, 2026. John will also lead a breakout session in the afternoon.

Your ticket includes tastings from a lineup of regional chefs, each creating a unique dish featuring Chesapeake blue catfish. Guests will also enjoy raw oysters and a variety of Southern-inspired sides, along with live cooking demonstrations, educational talks, and complimentary boat rides throughout the afternoon.
